Superman- Goldfinger

This band reminds me of so many good things about my childhood: Tony Hawk's pro skater, Vans Warped Your, Meet The Deedles movie soundtrack. They were a favorite during my punk and ska days. They are still an amazing band today (with a few different members), and released the dopest Christmas album last year (best 12 days of Christmas ever). But today, I'm going back to the classic song "Superman".

I am pretty sure Superman instantly brings thoughts of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater when it starts playing, at least for me. But it is such a fun cheery song, even though the message is a little bit not.

It immediately starts with blasting horns and a beachy vibe with surfy guitars and poppy drums and the classic punk-ska bass grooves. This song is so refreshing to listen to. And the theme of the song is really relatable. My take on it is it's about trying to hold it all together when time seems to be going way too fast and life gets stressful. It's about trying to hold on to your youth and who you really are and not letting the world completely change you or force you to mature and become a different person.

This song is perfect for skating, or surfing or biking and also will bring back memories of one of the craziest dances: skanking. It is really a classic song and so much fun.
